The Roadrunner Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America put the spotlight on VMFC policy powerhouses Retired Major Dorothy Seaton, U.S. Army, U.S. Army National Guard and her wife, Joan Dickerson, for their advocacy on behalf of New Mexico’s Veterans, in particular their roles in assuring the passage of the two laws expanding property tax protection for our State’s Veterans.

Dorothy and Joan have served MOAA in roles similar to their work on behalf of our caucus and the MOAA Leadership Awards for that work were accompanied by citations, the language of which also acknowledges their tireless leadership of the VMFC community.

Dorothy:  Your contributions as a member of the Chapter’s Board of Directors have been instrumental in strengthening the chapter and the community.  Your leadership in developing and starting the Committee for Veterans Advocacy has left a lasting impact on the community.  Your enduring efforts, from working on the Legislative Report Card to conducting candidate interviews are truly remarkable.  As a result of your dedication, 2 new bills have been signed into law, creating a lasting legacy into the future.

Joan: Through your guidance and engagement with the Committee for Veteran Advocacy you have shown great leadership and dedication.  Your efforts running detailed candidate interviews, keeping CVA endorsements veteran focused and work on the Legislative Report Card cannot be overstated.  The 2 new bills signed into law are reflective of your meritorious contributions, leaving a profound effect on your community as well as your chapter.
